March Madness heroes Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur were thrown out of the NBA’s rookie transition program on Wednesday morning after being caught in their hotel room with marijuana and women, according to several sources.

“The players were sent home for violating program rules,” NBA spokesman Tim Frank said. “They will be appropriately sanctioned and will have to repeat the program next year.”

Sources said Chalmers and Arthur, who starred on the Kansas Jayhawks’ 2008 NCAA championship team, were also fined $20,000 apiece and could start the regular season on the suspended list. But NBA spokesman Brian McIntyre would not confirm that.

“We’re still looking into it,” McIntyre said. “Once we have all the details, appropriate sanctions will be taken.”

Are  you Serious????? Seriously????? So let me get this straight Chalmers, and Arthur who were big in the NCAA run by the Jayhawks last March and April go to the NBA Camp to learn how to carry themselves in the NBA and they bring Marijuana and allegedly had visitors as well which is not permitted.  If you ask me these two need to be taught a lesson as well as the rest of the league and any other new comers. Arthur and Chalmers should be supended for the year and made to play in the D-League ALL YEAR no matter what.

What kind of message does this send if all the NBA does is make them repeat the seminar next year and fine them $20,000????  Don’t you think they have both already spent that in cars, toys and in their Entourage’s as well. It is a drop in the bucket for guys just coming into that kind of money and they probably burn that in their sleep.  If the NBA is trying to crack down on lude behavior and trying to police itself after the Referee scandle they need to make an example of two NCAA Championship winners.  If they don’t have respect enough for the league to not bring “visitors” or drugs during a 4 day camp the NBA should show them the same respect if you ask me.  David Stern if you want to clean up the image of YOUR league you had best start with the new generation and build up from there.  Mr. Stern you’ve always had an IRON FIST, USE IT!!!!
